SILENT RETREAT AT CARMEL

THIS SATURDAY

On Saturday, February 13, 2010, in the Sanctuary at Carmel Temple, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 4:30 p.m., you are invited to experience a deeper appreciation of and a joyous recommitment to your soul’s purpose during this eight-hour silent retreat. Casual, loose clothing (sports wear) for lounging on YOUR mat, pillow or blanket and writing materials for journaling, all which you should bring as well as a light lunch. The noon-time meal will also be eaten in silence in the kitchen. Gentle, stretching exercises (Feldenkrais® will be guided by MaryBeth Smith, an experienced teacher and Director of the Feldenkrais® Center of Houston. As with all Carmel Temple sponsored events, there is no fixed charge but your love offering is greatly appreciated.

Carmel Temple is a 501(c)3 non-profit  all-faith Church formed to support  messages of truth that set us free. We do not pass a collection plate at services and rely on tax deductible contributions for our existence. You are invited to see our mission statement, programs, workshops, study groups and how we have served the public for over 40 years, same caretakers, same location, same mission.

Carmel Temple weekly presents speakers and workshops on inspirational subjects. Again, we do not necessarily endorse what they may say and it is up to the listener to accept or reject or shelve. New ideas and new personalities are always interesting and can stimulate thinking. Most philosophers insist, however, that TRUTH lies WITHIN, and it is well to remember the words from Browning’s poem:

“TRUTH is within ourselves; it takes no rise from outward things, whate’er you may believe. There is an inmost centre in us all, where Truth abides in fulness.
