07-21-2002, 07-28-2002, 08-04-2002: Dr. Donald Hudson and Jim Miles (the first in a series of three) Guest Speakers at 11AM and 1PM workshop. On Sundays, July 21, 28, and August 4, you will have the opportunity of a lifetime. On those dates, Dr. Donald Hudson, “a recovering Pentecostal Preacher” and Jim Miles, “a former renegade Jesuit,” will be speaking on “Did You Hear The One About The Jesuit & The Pentecostal? or, in other words, “The Dynamics of Group Consciousness.” Though from different backgrounds, both Don and Jim are well-versed in the esoteric traditions of all religions as well as in the sacred texts of orthodox Christianity. Don’s “death experience” and subsequent work as a certified hypnotherapist deepened his appreciation of the mind’s potential for limitless capabilities. Jim’s nine years of work in subtle energy and bio-feedback research, as well as his “epiphanies” or mystical experiences, brought him to the same conclusion.

Both Don and Jim feel deeply that their role is to remind each of us who we really are: “a spiritual being having a human experience.” As spirit, inherently infinite and eternal, we can create endless possibilities. When we surrender to living in the Now, we are living as spirit. “Living in the now frees us from the energy-depleting mental dramas of past pain or future anxiety,” says Miles. “The more we are into the past or the future, the more we are draining our life force. Living in the now allows us no space for the past or the future - only the opportunity to achieve our infinite potential.”

“We are creators with this infinite potential. We create with the thoughts we entertain. Our energized thoughts today become our children of tomorrow,” insists Miles. “But are they our thoughts, or have we unconsciously allowed the beliefs and values of what we are fed to influence us? Medicine, politics, cultural icons, religion, advertising, pharmaceuticals, mass media, and movies, each with their own agendas, infiltrate, influence, and possibly sabotage our own individual consciousness.” Adds Hudson: “We are aware that group consciousness lives in the corporate environment. It exists in every industry you can think of, and in all professions, in both the public and private sector: white collar executives, middle management, employees, blue-collar workers, and unions, among them. All clubs throughout the panoply of community living have it. Sporting teams, bowling leagues, country clubs, and health clubs are not exempt. Every group has its own consciousness: grade schools, high schools, and colleges, where peer pressure rules. We even have to be aware that it exists in order to raise our kids today. We must realize this consciousness is neither good nor bad. It is our awareness, discernment, and understanding of it that determines its impact on our lives.”

“Not only can we become more discerning about the power and effects of group consciousness, but we will also show you how to use it to support and empower you,” says Miles. “Group consciousness affects us daily, hourly, and, indeed, each minute, whether we are aware of it or not. In these workshops, you will leam what it is and how to develop it. Finally, you will learn how to manifest a spiritual group consciousness that can change you, your family, and ultimately the city of Houston and beyond,” added Miles. “The desired impact of these workshops is to raise the level of the consciousness of group dyamics and create a consciousness consistent with our vision instead of our circumstances.”
