Ngozi J. Kamau, M.C.

November 04-07- Ngozi J. Kamau, M.C., is Associate Director of Research and Evaluation, Rice University School of Mathematics Project. Ms. Kamau is grateful and excited to have encountered the Love, Spiritual Companionship, and Invaluable Guidance that she experiences at Carmel Temple. In the 1980’s, her older sister gave her U.S Anderson’s Three Magic Words. This was the first text to answer many of her questions about God and Life, as she began her ongoing exploration into strengthening her relationship with God. Now, sharing the Sunday morning meditations from  Three Magic Words reminds her that all roads truly lead home. Additionally, she facilitates the Neale Donald Walsch’s series of Conversations with God discussion group on Sunday mornings at Carmel Temple (where continual conversations with God occur!) as each participant explores, learns and teaches - brings her much Joy and Peace. Ngozi feels blessed to have been raised in a climate where exploration was embraced and encouraged. Her Christian parents instilled in her a sense of freedom to follow spiritual and career goals. Ngozi’s life’ works have been diverse, as she has pursued an array of curiosities. She is an educational researcher and doctoral student in African American Studies, with a background in community mental health education, psychotherapy, and collegiate education. Currently employed at Rice University and previously with The Houston Independent School District, Ngozi has found that true acceptance is the key to personal, academic and professional growth. She has practiced Christianity as well as the Baha’i and Fahamme faiths. Currently, she is enjoying wonderful experiences through Hare Krisna chanting. The most important factor that unites Ngozi’s diverse endeavors is her search to hear and experience herself and others through love and the common cords of Life, which she believes helps Us to thrive more fully. She truly believes that a group is infinitely greater than the sum of its individual parts, and she rejoices in the fact. She has found unlimited consistencies between information and perspectives expressed at Carmel Temple, the expansive understandings articulated in old and contemporary works on spiritualism and metaphysics, and the timeless wisdom codified in the African cultures of antiquity. For Ngozi, these irrefutable consistencies symbolize the vast Intelligence and Oneness of God.
