Ron Schumacher

01-30-2000: Ron Schumacher, a native Houstonian, is currently a Sculptor & Art Educator. Ron’s path this lifetime has been varied. After several years as an art student at the University of Houston, he then spent 6 years in the U. S. Navy, studying nuclear power and serving over 3 years on a Submarine, the USS Blueback. Upon discharge, he attended the UH for a short time, got involved in an MLM company, trying to get monetarily rich quick. This path led to other, greater riches. Some of these inner riches include Silva Mind Control, a past-life reading, and Unity Church. This was his beginning of a conscious seeking to discover “the meaning of life.” During this time, Ron met Richard & Charlotte Sigler and was at Carmel Temple’s opening celebration, almost 30 years ago. These paths intersected others, including degrees in Fine Arts and Art Education. Led by a dream, Ron created a triptych relief sculpture in various hardwoods of three views of the human eyeball. This piece is owned by the UH’s College of Optometry. Other public sculptures include a relief sculpture, Remembering the Promise, in the chapel at M. D. Anderson Hospital. Two Meditation/Prayer Rooms at the hospital also display creations by Ron. Spiritual quests have included Unity Church, an East Indian Guru, past lives, astrology, palmistry, physiognomy, handwriting analysis, and numerology, to mention a few. Realizing all these studies reveal similar things about life, he finally understood that there IS a God who created all these things. Acknowledging these studies, Ron focuses on going to the source for guidance. The book, A Course in Miracles, has put all the paths into their proper perspective for him.
