Jim Shaw

12-27-98: After a two-year absence as Guest Speaker, but barely missing any service at Carmel, Jim Shaw returns officially as Speaker of the Day! A walking medical miracle, Jim has proved what positive thinking can do for an individual. After open-heart surgery, at eighty-eight years young, when a swine heart valve was placed in his heart, he drove, then walked unassisted, into Carmel’s Sunday service, less than two weeks after his operation. Attending Washington University, Jim majored in Business, Advertising, and Public Speaking. Employed as National Sales Manager for three separate international sales organizations and traveling all over the world, Jim has spread his positive attitude far and wide. Currently he is teaching Physiognomy, which is the ancient Oriental art of face reading, often taught to Police departments, which has proved to be very accurate. Studying metaphysics since 1963, he is certainly following his spiritual path. Come to Carmel today, and perhaps Jim will read your face! A beloved “Carmelite,” we welcome this kind, gentle man as Public Speaker of the Day! (Jim Shaw made his transition January 2, 2004.)
