Catherine Rogers Wampler,

10-24-2004: Catherine Rogers Wampler is a special education teacher with the Houston Independent School District. Teaching English to middle school students with learning disabilities gives Catherine tremendous satisfaction, and her previous work as a marriage and family therapist assists her in reaching those students daily. Catherine says: “Teaching is much more than the giving of information. I try to reach out to the whole child and help them acquire the listening, thinking, and writing skills necessary to meet life confidently and effectively. Teaching is also a way I can challenge others to believe in themselves and their ability to make a contribution to the world.” Her topic for today is “Redeeming Your Whole Self”.
