Welcome to Carmel Temple Online
Carmel Temple

Carmel Temple is a quiet sanctuary far away from the outer world of seeming chaos. It is a place of peace, healing, study, teaching, meditation, love, warmth, and friendship. Carmel is a loving place made available for all seekers of the Light.

 PAMELA  STOCKTON
On her Journey:with Holotropic Breathwork and Transformative Potential Pamela Stockton is Editor of the Brigid's Place Women's Journal in Houston Texas and a 2006 graduate of Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University. In the mid-1980’s, Pam experienced a significant healing through the work of Jan Weiss. Her spiritual journey began then, but it was not until 1999, after experiencing an opening to contemplative spirituality through an introduction to Centering Prayer, that she embarked on a more concentrated study and daily practice of meditation. Pam retired after nearly twenty years as a business attorney, and became a student of theology and mystical spirituality, especially that of the medieval women Christian mystics. Pam earned a Certificate in Women’s Studies while at Perkins, concentrating on gender in Christianity and especially Christian understandings of Mary the Mother and Mary Magdalene. She has taught on those topics and on the history of women in Christianity at Brigid’s Place and elsewhere. In 2007 Pam began training as a Holotropic Breathwork facilitator; she intends to receive her certification in 2009. The experience of Holotropic Breathwork and study of Stanislav Grof’s understandings of psychology, cosmology, and spirituality have expanded and deepened her personal and spiritual explorations.

Guest Speakers

Carmel Temple weekly presents speakers on inspirational subjects. We do not necessarily endorse what they may say and it is up to the listener to accept or reject or shelve. New ideas and new personalities are always interesting and can stimulate thinking. Most philosophers insist, however, that TRUTH lies WITHIN, and it is well to remember the words from Browning’s poem:

“TRUTH is within ourselves; it takes no rise from outward things, whate’er you may believe. There is an in most centre in us all, where Truth abides in fulness.”
